people say “expat” about people emmigrating from W.E.I.R.D countries to non-WEIRD countries
and immigrant about people emmigrating from non-WEIRD backgrounds.
such a binary doesn’t really exist and using the language seems only to reeinforce otherism thus I refer to myself as an immigrant.
